Restore. Rejuvenate. Rejoice!

Real cosmetic surgeons. Real results.

At Wasatch Cosmetic Surgery our philosophy is that good patient-doctor communication is paramount to understanding a patient’s goals for cosmetic improvements. Patient safety is our highest priority while at the same time providing the best achievable result. We consider all aspects of surgical care from choosing our staff, medications, operating room safety, and postoperative care. Our goal is to achieve an aesthetic balance in one’s appearance. It should be apparent that you look better but not apparent that you have had cosmetic surgery.

Breast Contouring

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular procedures performed. If you are unhappy with the size and/or shape of your breasts you are not alone. Through the placement of saline or silicone implants, breast augmentation can enhance the shape and increase the size of your breasts, as well as correct asymmetry.

There are many reasons women undergo breast augmentation. These reasons include:

  • Reshaping breasts that have lost their size and shape
  • Making breasts larger to become more proportional in overall body shape
  • Balancing breasts that are different sizes

Our surgeons have preformed thousands of breast augmentations in the cosmetic surgery realm and will spend time discussing your desired breast augmentation outcome.

SURGERY: THE OPERATION IS CARRIED OUT UNDER IV SEDATION AND WILL BE PERFORMED IN OUR STATE-OF-THE-ART SURGICAL SUITE. BREAST IMPLANTS CAN BE PLACED THROUGH AN INCISION MADE UNDER THE LOWER FOLD OF THE BREAST. OUR SURGEONS WILL DISCUSS THE PROS AND CONS FOR THE INCISION SITE SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDED FOR YOU. IMPLANTS CAN BE PLACED BENEATH THE MUSCLE OR ABOVE THE MUSCLE AND OUR SURGEONS WILL DISCUSS THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF IMPLANT PLACEMENT EITHER WAY.

RECOVERY: BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY IS PERFORMED AS AN OUTPATIENT PROCEDURE, AND MOST PATIENTS ARE ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK TYPICALLY WITHIN A WEEK BUT SOMETIMES AFTER UP TO TWO WEEKS. SOME SWELLING, BRUISING AND MINOR DISCOMFORT MAY BE EXPERIENCED FOR SEVERAL DAYS AFTER THE SURGERY AND IS EASILY CONTROLLED WITH PAIN MEDICATION. YOU MAY ALSO FEEL TIGHTNESS IN THE CHEST AREA FOR SOME TIME. TO MINIMIZE YOUR RISK FOR COMPLICATIONS SUCH AS HEMATOMA (BLEEDING AROUND THE IMPLANT) WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU LIMIT YOUR ACTIVITY FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS. STRENUOUS ACTIVITY SHOULD BE AVOIDED FOR 6-8 WEEKS FOLLOWING BREAST AUGMENTATION. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK WITHIN A FEW DAYS, DEPENDING ON THE LEVEL OF ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR YOUR JOB

Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts that have lost elasticity due to the effects of pregnancy, nursing, weight fluctuations, time, or gravity. A breast lift reshapes the breast to a more natural rounded shape and also repositions the breast, nipple, and areola to a more natural and youthful position and projection.

Our surgeons can combine a breast lift with breast augmentation for patients who have thin, drooping breasts, with nipples at or below the breast fold. An implant will often help shape the breast providing fullness in the upper portion even if it is not used to make the breast larger.

The Surgery:

Breast lifts are performed under general or IV anesthesia on an out-patient basis. The surgery is performed at our state-of-the-art surgery suite. Mastopexy usually takes two to three hours to perform. Techniques vary, but the most common procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision following the natural contour of the breast. Other women may simply require an incision around the nipple/areola while others require a vertical breast lift that results in a “lollipop” type incision. Regardless of the incision required, breast lift surgery is performed in such a way that scarring is hidden by a bathing suit or bra. Patients usually return to work after a week or two, with healing gradually taking place over about three months.

Breast reduction surgery entails the removal of skin and tissue from the breast, followed by reshaping and elevating to create a smaller, more proportionate bust size. Many women struggle with the decision to have a breast reduction, but afterwards consider it one of the best decisions they ever made for themselves.

Body Contouring

Contouring the body to us doesn’t just mean liposuction and a tummy tuck. We focus on the patient as a whole, and body contouring means the whole body. We all know that exercising is a great way to lose weight and maintain a stunning figure. However there are times when work gets in the way or maybe an injury has set you back from keeping up with your exercise routine. Maybe you are a diligent fitness enthusiast but have had trouble eliminating stubborn pockets of fat located in areas such as the stomach, neck, and buttocks. In many cases, no amount of diet or exercise will be able to restore these areas to their youthful look.

Dr. Jason Wright was born in Spokane, WA and began his undergraduate training at Whitworth University. He transferred to Washington State University for his last two years and graduated with a BS in Biology. He then attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL for medical school. He then moved to Detroit, MI where he pursued and completed his 5 year General Surgery Residency. It was during these five years that he was exposed to breast cancer surgery and breast cancer reconstruction. The more reconstruction cases he was involved in the more Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery intrigued him. This changed from intrigue to a passion. After completing his residency he then moved to Salt Lake City, UT where he then completed a total body Cosmetic Surgery fellowship through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
With hard work and a passionate commitment to Aesthetic Surgery, Dr. Wright opened Wright Surgical Arts in Tri-Cities, WA in 2015. As the practice continued to grow, and with a history in Salt Lake City, he has now opened a practice in Salt Lake City, UT.  Patients say that Dr. Wright has a non-intimidating manner that makes it easy to communicate with him. This is exceedingly important to him because there should be no barrier when discussing realistic expectations, risks, or the course of your recovery. This barrier-free communication helps us reach a practical and rational surgical plan that ends in outstanding results.
Dr. Wright chose cosmetic surgery because he is fascinated by the technical aspects as well as the fact that in order to become an excellent surgeon, one must master being an excellent physician. Cosmetic surgery also requires artistic talent. This appeals to him as he appreciates that each individual is different, challenging him to think outside the box since no two procedures or patients are the same. Being a surgeon has been his life long dream. All the years of his surgical training and patient interactions have propelled him towards a passion for cosmetic surgery and understanding that each individual is beautiful and unique in their own way. Dr. Wright absolutely loves what he does, and one of the most rewarding aspects of this is hearing from patients how a cosmetic procedure he has performed has helped enhance their own self confidence. If this drives any one patient toward fulfilling a lifelong dream, or just stepping out of their comfort zone because they suddenly feel confident enough, then he is fulfilled. That is what makes Dr. Wright’s profession as a cosmetic surgeon fulfilling every day!
